Students were asked to design an 11 x 17 inch poster and zoom backgrounds based on the themes "joy", "resilience," and "activism." Dr. Bradley Philbert gave the students ideas for inspiration based on modern, urban cyberpunk and Afrofuturist aesthetics that might be an evocative and unifying visual theme. He asked them to view imagery by New York-based artist, Tourmaline https://linktr.ee/tourmaliiine whose work focuses on imagery that is on the edge of cyberpunk and Afrofuturism, and has a touch of the Kehinde Wiley-inspired tropicality and lush florals. Zoom backgrounds are 1920px by 1080px (16:9 aspect ratio) and can be downloaded to your computer with a right click.
